Charlotte – Best Place for Business and Careers

According to Forbes several of North Carolina’s metro areas are the best places for business and careers this year. Charlotte, Raleigh and Durham all found places on the publication’s 15th annual list of the The Best Places For Business And Careers.
Charlotte – The Queen City, No 19 on the list of the top 25, had a gross metro product of $101 billion, with projected annual GMP growth of 4 percent and metro population of 1.8 million, according to the analysis. Raleigh is No. 3 on the list, and Durham is No. 10.
Forbes looks at the nation’s 200 largest metro areas and uses 12 metrics to rank the cities. Those metrics relate to job growth, the cost of living and cost of doing business, income growth during the past five years, educational attainment and projected economic growth through 2014. Also factored in are net migration patterns, cultural and recreational opportunities, the number of highly ranked colleges in an area and crime rates.
